Helping High is a 501c3 non-profit that provides incentives to at-risk students to inspire superior attendance, academics and behavior.
For many of our students, school has taken a back seat to the daily struggle for food, shelter and clothing. Stability, security and family support are often in short supply. Our incentives have huge impact at many different levels:
- Obvious but critical: students given a blanket are no longer cold at night & students given food are not hungry
- Silent but powerful: the student-school relationship is completely re-cast. By offering help with real life problems school becomes immediately relevant. Teachers gain credibility and trust. Student-teacher dynamics in the classroom improve.
- Permanently life altering: our program is succeeding at keeping students in school longer, learning more, graduating and transitioning to college/careers.
